What do you look for in a therapist?
Hey, I’m Dani. Help is hard to ask for, especially when it comes to mental health. Let me assure you of a few things: my approach is strength-centered and collaborative. You are the expert on your life and experience. I can help you with understanding and managing anxiety, depression, and healing from past trauma. Together we can work on building emotional intelligence, distress tolerance, and communication skills. As a trans-masculine non-binary butch, I enjoy working with people in learning more about and affirming their sexuality and gender. For couples, I use the Gottman method and am consensual non-monogamy and polyamory informed.

Finding a fit
Everyone can benefit from therapy, especially when you find the right fit in your therapist! Go with your gut on this one. What you’re looking for is someone that you can talk to and feel comfortable around.
In sessions with me, you can expect the freedom to stim, be off camera, crochet, play a soothing video game, etc. As long as you’re feeling connected and comfortable to talk, then you’re ready for session.
Some helpful questions to ask when consulting: “Have you worked with my diagnosis and/or my community before? Do you have sliding scale spots open?"
Questions to expect
The first phone call can be intimidating, so it can be helpful to know what some of the questions are in advanced. The free consultation call is both for you to get to know more about me, and for me to get some introduction to you and what you’d like to work on.

Fees and Good Faith Estimate
Fees for Sessions*
I offer a sliding scale down ranging from $100 to $175 per individual therapy or Brainspotting session. My standard rate is $125. I do not offer a sliding scale for couple’s therapy. Alternatively, I am an Open Path clinician for those who are without insurance and seeking therapy at an even lower rate. Go to https://bit.ly/3uqCAMH for more information on Open Path if you are without insurance. For couple’s therapy, the scale is $125 to $200 and the standard rate is $175.
For those who are not experiencing financial hardship and are able to pay the higher fee, I encourage you to pay the higher amount as this helps provide for those who are unable to pay the standard rate.
Good Faith Estimate
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises
